"No creature that deserved redemption would need to be redeemed." C.S. Lewis
God chose to save us from ourselves by giving His only Son. That's why we should be quick to forgive, for we have tasted the sweetest forgiveness.
Hear me, Lord, and answer me,
for I am poor and needy.
Guard my life, for I am faithful to you;
save your servant who trusts in you.
You are my God; have mercy on me, Lord,
for I call to you all day long.
Bring joy to your servant, Lord,
for I put my trust in you.
You, Lord, are forgiving and good,
abounding in love to all who call to you.....
But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God,
slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.
Turn to me and have mercy on me;
show your strength in behalf of your servant;
save me, because I serve you
just as my mother did.
Give me a sign of your goodness,
that my enemies may see it and be put to shame,
for you, Lord, have helped me and comforted me.
Psalm 86:1-5, 15-17
For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace. Romans 6:14
At the same time that my sanity was restored, my honor and splendor were returned to me for the glory of my kingdom. My advisers and nobles sought me out, and I was restored to my throne and became even greater than before.37 Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, because everything he does is right and all his ways are just. And those who walk in pride he is able to humble. Daniel 4:36-37
I will heal their waywardness
and love them freely,
for my anger has turned away from them. Hosea 14:4
Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.
“Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand bags of gold was brought to him. Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt.
“At this the servant fell on his knees before him. ‘Be patient with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything.’ The servant’s master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go.
“But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred silver coins. He grabbed him and began to choke him. ‘Pay back what you owe me!’ he demanded.
“His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it back.’
“But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. When the other servants saw what had happened, they were outraged and went and told their master everything that had happened.
“Then the master called the servant in. ‘You wicked servant,’ he said, ‘I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’ In anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.
“This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.” Matthew 18:21-35
Pardon - par = by (in obedience to or submission to), don = gift
Pardon is action in obedience or submission to the act of giving Himself on the cross on our behalf as a model for us to follow for others (including self of mine, ourselves).
Forgive = give for
We must give our selves in remembrance in the vision for the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who gave Himself as a ransom us i.e. pardon. Do it as He has done it in the same manner for the sake of others.
Excuse is not a good reason, therefore I repent with deeds (apology is not repentance).
I am made in the image and the resemblance of God Almighty, therefore my true 'he' or 'I' is in God Almighty. I am the shadow of my true self which is hidden in God Almighty.
Believing in unbelief,
ignoring ignorance
are both attitudes and altitudes that determine who we are and what we have.
